LATCH
is a
coalition of Lutheran congregations
whose mission is
to build safe and nurturing communities
that recognize the right to affordable housing, the importance of
self-determination, and the value of mutual respect. We work
collaboratively to develop and maintain housing, create resident-managed
rental cooperatives, and advocate for public policies that address the
needs of our communities.
LATCH was incorporated as a non-profit housing development organization
in 1990. Today LATCH has 35 member congregations and it owns and
operates 205 apartments - providing stable, affordable homes
to nearly 500 people, half of whom are children.
This Website
is intended to tell you a little bit
about us, provide progress reports on
our
latest projects and
events, communicate information for
those seeking housing, and allow people
to contribute financially.
LATCH is always looking for new communities to build or
to acquire.
If you have property, or know of opportunities for
development,
please contact Beth Boram, Senior Housing Developer,
at 206.789.1536 x111, or via email,
beth@latch.org.
